Infrastructure data management services

We managed the acquisition, collation, maintenance, and distribution of ETCS-related geographic and system configuration data within the project, ensuring that data provided to contractors and other project teams was completed, consistent, and met the specified quality and integrity standards. Additionally,we arranged and oversaw all necessary survey and data acquisition activities to ensure that the data was available for use within agreed timescales.

Activities & Deliverables

  • Developed a data configuration management system and process for the European Train Control System, in accordance with company processes and standards
  • Produced remits, Project data strategy, and specifications  to support the use of external contractors to supply related infrastructure asset data
  • Provided quality assurance that data (including As-built and verification data), supplied by external contractors met the agreed accuracy and integrity criteria
  • Coordinated all the survey works undertaken by the external contractors and ensured that the works were carried out as per schedule, within the budget, in line with the quality standards and as per health and safety requirements 
  • Liaised and supported the Network Rail BIM team in 3D modeling and achieved “CAD QA acceptance” for all ETCS drawings and model
  • Managed the provision of appropriate CAD (Computer Aided Design) / GIS (Geographical Information System) resources to support the needs of the project for BIM (level 2). 
  • Established and maintained regular interfaces between the project team and other Network Rail stakeholders in respect of all matters concerning the transfer of ETCS-related documentation and asset data
